After pickup bracket has been re-positioned to be mounted with the strutt. This is the preferred position for the pickup bracket. You can see when the bracket is assembled One inch lower, the strutt is not apart of the lifting / lowering equation.
Excellent view of damage that occurred from the pickup bracket being assembled slightly lower, so the stutt is not attached to the bracket. The tearing of the section can occur as the picture shows. This damage happens when the spring breaks and the motor has to pickup the door without the help of the spring. Extra force is applied to this bracket which in turn pulls hard on the metal door.
Before pickup bracket has been readjusted. you can see the slight bends around the window portion.
