Gear Kit Damaged from Heavy Door In Vancouver
Gear Kit Damaged from Heavy Door In Vancouver

You can see the white power / plastic that has accumulated from the motor causing extreme friction on the gear assembly. This is due to the fact that the garage door was not maintained thus the door was too heavy for too long.

View of the operator that is in the midst of a gear kit repair. You can see the motor hanging down waiting for the new gear assembly to be placed into position.

Another issue that is hard to see without opening up the garage door motor. This is a limit module for the LiftMaster Garage Door Openers. This is a older version of the limit assembly. This older system had a issue where the copper contacts can bend (as seen in picture) This bending of the contact arm will cause the door to over-close. Interesting this is like a what came first? “The chicken or the egg.” In this situation the broken gear most likely caused the motor to over travel the door and thus moving the contacts beyond there set limits. Thus causing a bend. This is serious and needs repair. Please call us at: 604-940-8918
