With this service call we had a customer calling us saying that they were unable able to open their garage door. When we get these calls it is usually either a broken spring or an old opener that needs to be replaced. During our initial inspections it became apparent that we were working with a 2005 LiftMaster™ Belt Drive. Checking the motor we noticed that they had a broken spring that was beyond it’s life cycle. Once a spring is broken it is important that you don’t operate the garage door motor. Using the garage door with a broken spring is a recipe to have your automatic opener to die on you. Remember the springs do the heavy lifting of your door not your motor. With replacing the broken springs we also provided a general service to the garage door in assuring that no other issues are currently causing problems.
